I Love My Independent Bookstore/Local Library Contests

(Boston, Massachusetts) —  In a move designed to attract the attention of booksellers and librarians across the country, small publisher Peanut Butter and Jelly Press announced today the “I Love My Independent Bookstore Because...” and “I Love My Local Library Because...” monthly contests. Bookstore customers and librarian patrons will each win $50 for the best 15-word response every month.

“Independent bookstores and local libraries are an antidote to McAmerica,” said Fern Reiss, author of The Publishing Game books and creator of the contest. “The diversity of books in this country results in part from the diversity of our bookstores and libraries. As independent publishers, we're very grateful for their support.”

The contests were announced at Book Expo America, the largest book trade event in the United States.
